Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This privacy policy explains how ratboy.co.uk (the "Site", "we", "us") handles personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This is an independent editorial site. It does not sell products, does not run advertising, and does not require user accounts.
1. Who we are
This site is operated by Callum Pryce as an independent editorial project. The contact address for any privacy-related queries is [email protected].
2. What personal data we collect
Under normal browsing there is no registration, no account creation, no comments system, and no newsletter signup on this site. The only personal data that may be collected is:
- Server log data. Our hosting provider maintains routine server access logs. These contain the request URL, the timestamp, the HTTP response code, the user-agent string, and the visitor's IP address. These logs are used only for security monitoring and abuse prevention.
- Email correspondence. If you email [email protected], your email address and the content of your message are held for the purpose of replying. We do not add contacts to any mailing list.
3. What we do not do
- We do not run third-party advertising networks, so no ad-tracking cookies are set.
- We do not integrate social-media share buttons that phone home with your browsing activity.
- We do not sell or share personal data with any third party.
- We do not collect information from children, and this site is not directed at children under 13.
4. Cookies
This site does not set any tracking cookies. Essential functional cookies may be set by the web server for session handling or security (for example to mitigate abuse). These are necessary for the site to function and are not used for analytics or marketing.
5. Analytics
If and when the site uses a privacy-respecting analytics tool (server-side log analysis or a self-hosted tool that anonymises IP addresses), this section will describe it. As of the current version of this policy, no third-party analytics service is integrated.
6. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal data we hold on you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten") where applicable.
- Object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Requests can be sent to [email protected].
7. Data retention
Server log data is retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. Email correspondence is retained only as long as is reasonable for answering the query, after which it is deleted.
8. External links
This site contains outbound links to third-party websites (for example official label pages or reference sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their own privacy policies when you click through.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Significant changes will also be summarised at the top of this section for a reasonable period.
